Meet the Artist
I’m Madeline! I’m an artist, who’s primary focus is in fashion illustration but I have been known to dabble in just about any medium that suits my creative whims. I am lucky enough to be married to my best friend and we spend our days loving our two sweet babies.
I was born and raised in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah. My childhood was filled with walks in the city, drawing and painting along side my dad who is an illustrator for book covers, to baking and creating in the kitchen with my mom who has done food for television the majority of my life. Late nights at the family theater where my parents directed, produced, choreographed and costumed countless theatrical productions. And of course our week was filled with ballet and piano lessons.
From a young age I have always had a deep love for fashion, which I think came from our walks through the city- we’d often find ourselves window shopping and stopping at the bookstore where I’d find myself browsing the fashion magazines. My mom taking us to the fabric store where we’d spend hours looking at patterns (but also my sister and I would usually find ourselves playing tag and then getting in trouble by the workers haha.) We can also cite Barbie, watching Project Runway with my grandparents, and probably Elizabeth James from the Parent Trap as just a few sources of inspiration but also for instilling the love for style in my veins!
I studied illustration at BYU, BYU Idaho and did the Fashion Essentials program with Parsons School of Design. From there I have worked as a graphic designer in publishing as well as marketing. I had the wonderful opportunity to illustrate the children’s book “Generations” by Ramona Merrill. My fashion illustrations been recognized by Marc Jacobs, Rodarte, Hill House, Amber Fillerup/ Dae, Glow Beauty, Perrier, Kim Petras, The Rockets, Wicked the Musical, Marylin Fitoussi- the costumer for Emily in Paris, Kelly Rutherford, Dillards, Antonio Melani and more! I love creating pieces that compliment the beauty and art that comes with fashion and hope to spread joy, color, and a bit of sparkle with each piece.
Feel free to browse my collection and check back often because I'm continually creating and adding.
